Good Food
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy good food. For us, good food means choosing good, simple ingredients grown and sourced responsibly, to make nutritionally balanced foods without any artificials. We also encourage home-cooking and baking through our extensive recipe collections.
Sustainable
Our aspiration has always been to tread lightly on the planet. Whether it’s growing our organic business, moving to more recyclable packaging materials, or using more renewable energy on-site, little by little we aim to improve the sustainability credentials of our products and operations.
Honest
We will always tell you clearly what is in our foods, on our labels and our website. Our packaging is clearly labelled with recycling advice. We are independently audited by the Soil Association (Organic certification), the British Retail Consortium, retail partners and others.

A brief History
First fields in 1977
Michael & Clare Marriage planted their first organic field in 1977. They were keen to explore more sustainable farming systems and to make food, which hadn’t been sprayed with harmful chemicals.
From Door-to-Door to #1
A year later, the result was the first Doves Farm Organic Wholegrain Flour, which they initially sold going door to door. More organic flours were launched over the years including from ancient grains such as Spelt, Emmer and Einkorn, which Michael & Clare were the first to re-introduce to British soils. Today, Doves Farm is the #1 organic flour brand in the UK and also sell organic Breakfast Cereal and Digestives made from our own flour.
Putting passion into Gluten Free
Around the same time in the seventies, Clare’s mother was advised to follow a gluten free diet. A passionate cook and baker, Clare started to experiment baking with alternative gluten free grains, so her mother could continue to enjoy delicious bread and cakes.
This led to the introduction of our first gluten free flour, which was later joined by a range of other gluten free foods, from breakfast cereal to pasta, oat bars and cookies. The dedicated gluten free brand, FREEE, was introduced in 2017.
Preserving a 125 year old brand
In 2022, Michael & Clare acquired the Wessex Mill brand, which was due to close down. Keeping the original flour recipes and its ethos of sourcing from local farmers proud of working the land, the brand now continues to celebrate its 125-year affiliation with Wessex.
Gluten Free Pasta Manufacturing
Over the years, the business has expanded its milling and manufacturing capabilities and in 2024 commissioned its own dedicated gluten free pasta and spaghetti making facility in northern Italy under the name Gfree Alimentare.

Our UK production set up gives us the ability to make grain, flour, baking mixes, breakfast cereal, snack bars, cookies, crumb and much more. Our pasta and spaghetti are made in our own site in northern Italy.
